Character, Connection,
Compassion
These three words are at the core of what New Tampa Players does. Founded in 2002, NTP creates quality theatre by and for people of all abilities and backgrounds. Our goal is to be the leading example of excellence, diversity, and inclusion in our community
Situated in the heart of Uptown at the University Mall, our space: Uptown Stage provides theatrical programming for the Uptown and New Tampa communities.
Regardless of what you are interested in: being on stage, behind the scenes, or in the audience… you will find a place at New Tampa Players.
Our Mission
To create quality theatre by and for people of all abilities and backgrounds through Character, Connection, and Compassion.
Our Vision
To be the leading example of excellence, diversity, and inclusion for Tampa Bay community theatre.
Our Core Values
Quality:
We are committed to creating quality theatrical experiences for our cast, crew, volunteers, and audiences.
Accessibility:
We believe in removing obstacles to participate in theatre. We work with each individual to create an “I can” environment.
Community:
We value our Tampa Bay community and strive to create artistic experiences that will build and nurture. Within our organization, we build our NTP community through care of our volunteers, compassion for all, and striving to maintain connections with partnering organizations, Tampa Bay civic leaders, and the community.
Diversity and Inclusion:
We recognize the value of experiencing characters and actors on stage who are relatable while working to bring stories to our stage from different identities and experiences. We are committed to casting our productions inclusively and seek diverse talent from our community.
