Penguin Project

2020-2021

Dear Penguin Project Family,

Due to the uncertainities with COVID-19 this year, Penguin Project will be different. As soon as we can safely rehearse and book performance space, we plan to produce Penguin Project: Mary Poppins Jr. But in the meantime, we have developed a program that will nurture our young artists and peer mentors and help them develop performing arts and visual arts skills.

The program will begin in mid-October 2020 and end in mid-April 2021. It will meet on Monday and Tuesday from 7PM-8:15 PM on Zoom. We have some amazing teachers that will be teaching our young artists and peer mentors about playwriting, creative movement, spoken word poetry, visual art, and we will also do an online play. Peer mentors will be working with their young artists to create original performing and visual art. We will be able to see each other's work through online showcases at the end of each rotation.

Although we are disappointed that we will not be able to rehearse in person, we are excited that we have the opportunity to learn so many new things.

Please join us for a parent informational zoom meeting on Tuesday, September 15th at 7PM. Click on the Penguins at the top of page to register for the Zoom meeting. If you miss the Zoom meeting, please email me at president@newtampaplayers.org for details.

Sincerely,

Ms. Nora
